Yoast AI, Rank Math AI, and the client site that runs neither

Updated October 31, 2026

Yoast AI and Rank Math's Content AI are both decent at writing SEO titles and descriptions, and both can do it in bulk. But each one's stuck inside its own plugin.

If you're looking after a dozen client sites, that's a problem. The garden centre runs Yoast, the law firm runs Rank Math, the café someone else built runs SEOPress, and one site you inherited last spring runs AIOSEO. Kitepod gives one assistant the same reach into all four plugins' fields, then checks what each page actually renders and keeps every batch undoable for 90 days.

What Yoast's AI Generate does

In the editor you click "Use AI" in the search appearance section and pick one of five suggestions, or ask for "Generate 5 more". It also writes social titles and descriptions, plus product and category metadata on WooCommerce. As of October 2026 AI Generate comes with Yoast SEO Premium, Yoast WooCommerce SEO, Yoast SEO AI+ and Yoast SEO for Shopify, and Yoast gives every user 10 free Sparks to try it.

Bulk is covered. Yoast's AI Generate page says Premium can "write metadata for hundreds of published pages, without opening each one individually with the Bulk Editor."

Yoast is also opening up to outside assistants. Yoast SEO 28.7 (October 13, 2026) lets its yoast-seo/update-post-seo-data ability write six fields: SEO title, meta description, and the Open Graph and X titles and descriptions. The focus keyphrase stays read-only. Yoast says these abilities reach MCP clients once you connect the WordPress MCP Adapter.

If every site you touch already runs Yoast Premium, you don't need much else: its Bulk Editor handles a lot of this job on its own.

Where Rank Math's Content AI is stronger

It's the broader tool of the two: 40+ tools for ideas, outlines, long articles, keyword research and SEO elements. It's a separate subscription ("Content AI is not a part of the Rank Math PRO plugin," says Rank Math's FAQ), and Rank Math's comparison table lists it at €71.88 a year.

Since Rank Math SEO 1.0.269 it uses per-feature monthly limits:

ToolStarterCreatorExpert
SEO Title100500Unlimited
SEO Description100500Unlimited
Bulk Edit SEO Meta100500Unlimited

Unused uses don't roll over, and free users get one to five per feature. Kitepod doesn't do keyword research, so if you want research and drafting inside WordPress, Content AI's the better pick there.

What a mixed-plugin week looks like

Ask your assistant

On the law firm site, find pages that share the same meta description and write a unique one for each, under 155 characters. Show me ten before you save the rest.

Your assistant lists the pages, spots the duplicates and drafts replacements on your own Claude or ChatGPT plan. It does a dry run on the first, shows you a sample, then writes the rest into a single change set through Rank Math's own fields. If the client hates the tone, the whole set rolls back in one go.

Ask your assistant

On the garden centre site, noindex /thank-you and /basket and prove the robots tag is there.

It sets the robots field in Yoast for those two pages, then fetches each one logged out and reads the robots meta tag and the X-Robots-Tag header. You see what search engines get, not just what was saved. Hiding the whole site from search is different: Kitepod treats that as a sensitive setting and waits for someone to approve it.

Ask your assistant

On the café site, we renamed /menu-2023 to /menu. Change the slug and add a 301 from the old address.

It changes the slug, adds the redirect in your redirect plugin, then requests the old URL to check the status code and the redirect chain.

That's one assistant and three plugins, and you didn't have to learn a second process.

Kitepod carries the writes and checks them. But it doesn't write the descriptions. They're only as good as the assistant you connect.

Getting it onto a site

On each client site, upload the Kitepod plugin (it runs on WordPress 6.4+ with PHP 7.4+), press Connect in wp-admin, and pick which user account the AI gets. Add https://kitepod.com/mcp to your assistant once and approve it. Every site you connect after that shows up in the same conversation. WordPress MCP walks through each app.

SEO snags

Finer points

Is there a Yoast MCP server?

Yoast registers abilities with the WordPress Abilities API, and since 28.7 they can write titles and descriptions. MCP clients reach them through the WordPress MCP Adapter, which the MCP Adapter guide covers.

Is there a Rank Math MCP?

Not an official one that we found as of October 2026. Kitepod writes Rank Math's titles, descriptions, focus keyword, robots and canonical fields through Rank Math's own routes.

Can Claude write SEO titles in bulk?

Yes. Ask for a dry run and a sample first, then let it write the rest into one change set you can undo together. Claude and WordPress covers the Claude setup.

Does Kitepod do keyword research?

No. It writes SEO fields, redirects, sitemaps and robots.txt, and runs Google PageSpeed audits. For keyword research, use a dedicated tool or Rank Math's Content AI.

And the AIOSEO site you inherited, the one neither Yoast AI nor Content AI will ever touch, gets the same treatment as the rest.
