GoDaddy AI for WordPress: Airo, the Domains MCP and Your Own Assistant
Updated October 31, 2026
Airo for WordPress edits live WordPress sites by chat, on GoDaddy's Managed Hosting for WordPress. GoDaddy's MCP server only checks domain names.
Those are the two pieces of GoDaddy AI that matter for a WordPress owner in October 2026, and they have almost nothing to do with each other.
Airo, after launch day
Airo for WordPress replaced Airo Site Designer, and GoDaddy rebuilt it to work on real WordPress installs rather than a separate builder. Its December 2025 announcement says it builds on the Twenty Twenty-Five theme with Full Site Editing, sets up WooCommerce products, shop pages and checkout, installs plugins from the WordPress directory and adds pages, products or galleries when you ask.
You can keep going after the site is live. GoDaddy says you edit inline in the block editor, open full wp-admin whenever you want, or keep asking Airo for changes. It also says Airo uses MCP internally. Nothing in what GoDaddy published says you can point your own Claude or ChatGPT at it.
GoDaddy offers a 7-day trial with no card. For someone starting a site from nothing on GoDaddy, that's a good way in.
The MCP server is a different animal. It sits at mcp.godaddy.com with two tools: one checks if a domain can be registered (with pricing), the other suggests names from keywords or a business description. It reads public data, so there's no sign-in. Handy for naming a business, useless for editing one.
The About page you want back
You ask Airo to make your About page "more personal." It rewrites the story, swaps the team photo and moves the hours block. A week later your business partner wants last Tuesday's version.
As of October 2026, GoDaddy doesn't document an undo or change history for Airo. WordPress keeps page revisions, so the text is probably recoverable from the Revisions screen. Whether the photo and layout changes come back with it depends on what Airo touched, and revisions don't cover things like menus or site settings (what revisions miss).
If you'd made that request through your own assistant and Kitepod, the whole rewrite would be one change set, snapshotted before every write. One step undoes it, any time in the next 90 days.
Make my About page sound more personal, keep the founding year and the address exactly as they are, and show me the new text here before you save it.
Text edits like this save straight away under Kitepod's default policy, so asking to see the draft in chat first is worth the extra line. Layout and template changes work differently: they land on a preview and only go live when you publish them.
What changes with your own assistant
Three things, mostly. Your sites on other hosts sit in the same conversation as the GoDaddy one. The AI runs on the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for, because Kitepod doesn't run a model of its own (how that works). And you get that 90-day undo.
What you give up is GoDaddy's one-stop setup. Airo creates the site, the hosting and the WooCommerce store in one flow. Kitepod assumes the site already exists.
Putting Kitepod on a GoDaddy site
Go to your domain plus /wp-admin and log in. That works on any WordPress site, GoDaddy's included.
- In wp-admin, add the Kitepod plugin through Plugins → Add New → Upload. It needs WordPress 6.4+ and PHP 7.4+, and any host that lets the server make outgoing HTTPS requests.
- On the Kitepod screen, click Connect and choose which WordPress account the AI should act as. Pick an Editor account if you don't want it near plugins.
- In Claude, add a custom connector with
https://kitepod.com/mcp(Claude steps), or use ChatGPT's custom MCP option, then allow access.
GoDaddy's cache and plugin blocklist
Managed WordPress has built-in caching and a blocklist that includes caching plugins. Check GoDaddy's Blocklisted plugins help page before you or your assistant add one.
If an edit shows in wp-admin but not to visitors, that built-in cache is the first suspect. GoDaddy's help center covers how to flush it.
Finer points
Does GoDaddy have an MCP server?
Yes, at mcp.godaddy.com. As of October 2026 it only suggests domain names and checks whether they're available. It has no hosting or WordPress tools.
Can Airo edit a site that isn't hosted at GoDaddy?
GoDaddy describes Airo for WordPress as running on its Managed Hosting for WordPress. For a site elsewhere, your own assistant through a plugin is the way in.
Will Kitepod work on a site Airo built?
Airo builds a regular self-hosted WordPress site on a block theme, and Kitepod handles block themes, templates and global styles. Install the plugin as you would any other.
Is Airo for WordPress free?
The trial is 7 days with no card. After that it's part of GoDaddy's Managed Hosting for WordPress plans, priced by country and term.
